The footwear in the new Dior Homme François Premier collection (www.diorhomme.com) is the first from the brand that is completely handmade using the Goodyear-welt construction method. The technique involves the application of a leather strip between the shoe’s upper and last to form a cavity that can be filled with a cork material for added comfort. The construction method also promotes thermal insulation and enhances the shoe’s durability. The collection—designed by Kris Van Assche—includes the lace-up derby shown here ($1,650 per pair), a Chelsea boot ($1,850 per pair), and a buckle boot ($1,850 per pair).
