Nettleton Shoes’ Latest Collaboration Yields a New Footwear Collection

The British shoemaker Tony Slinger contributes his design talents to the new collection…

The family-owned, Florida-based Nettleton Shoes has been handcrafting durable loafers and dress shoes for men since 1879. This quietly prestigious brand has enlisted the British bespoke shoemaker Tony Slinger—who is also an authorized boot maker to the Queen’s Household Cavalry—to collaborate on a new collection, dubbed English Cavalry, that will debut this summer.

The English Cavalry styles (starting from $999) feature an understated exterior, are made with hand-rubbed leather uppers, and some sport ornamental perforated designs at the toe. As with Nettleton’s other designs, clients can select the material for their Cavalry shoes, choosing from suede, ultrasoft aniline calf leather, or more exotic skins such as crocodile and hard-to-find shell cordovan. Though clients can purchase some stock models, the brand’s shoes can also be made to order and delivered to clients within eight weeks of purchase.

Nettleton’s designs—including the Savannah, which dates back to the 1930s—have earned a loyal following over the last century. Starting at $795 per pair, the footwear is made with hand-stacked leather heels and soles for added durability, a seamless leather lining for comfort, and water-resistant leather outsoles—which are naturally tanned using bark and fruit extracts—that provide a tough but breathable barrier against the elements.
