Off the Cuff

Robert Tateossian, international traveler and owner of the British-based cuff link brand bearing his name, has assembled a collection of unique designs featuring unusual gems, minerals, and specimens (including shark teeth wrapped in gold wire) he has uncovered during his global travels. Coined the Rare Stone collection, each element is selected for its unusual shape, texture, or luminous quality, and an 18-karat gold setting is built around the stone to highlight its unique attributes. Stones include Brazilian pyrite, ammonite fossil, rough black and gray diamonds, carved lemon and smoky quartz, and natural lapis lazuli. Tateossian describes some minerals as “freaks of nature,” such as the natural hybrid combinations of two or more different gems. Prices start at about $3,500. (
