Daria de Koning’s designs always start with the gemstones. Falling in love with these unusually shaped, shield-like rubellite tourmalines, she was at first stumped about what to do with them. “After pages of drawings, I realized that every time I sat down and looked at them, all I saw were jellyfish, so I flipped them on their head and off I went,” says de Koning.

Fascinated by the underwater creatures’ ethereal movement, she brought her jellyfish to life with textured 18-karat yellow and rose gold tentacles that drip with water droplets of tanzanite and diamonds.
