Carl F. Bucherer Creates Its First Watch Fitted for the Deep Sea

Carl F. Bucherer released its first diver’s watch just in time for the holidays. The new Patravi ScubaTec chronometer, which comes on a stainless-steel bracelet or a rubber strap ($6,800 and $6,400, respectively), is equipped with a hardy 44.6 mm stainless-steel case and a sapphire crystal nearly 4 mm thick that shield the Swiss watchmaker’s CFB 1950.1 automatic movement on dives to 1,640 feet deep. The watch is equipped with a helium valve for pressure compensation on super-deep dives. The hands and markers are coated with Super-LumiNova that glows light blue in the dark, providing an extra degree of visibility underwater. The coating also appears on the unidirectional bezel, which has been engineered for safety while submerged. (www.carl-f-bucherer.com)
