Watchmaker Bernard Richards cannot be accused of procrastinating. He initially unveiled his BRM TR1, TR2, and TR3 timepieces (—oversize tourbillons that feature rugged plating and cages inspired by off-road vehicles—last April, just four months after he began work on them. Richards has made a few aesthetic modifications in the intervening time, but the speed with which he produced his in-house tourbillon movement is nonetheless astonishing. The three TR models, which BRM produces in small quantities at its facility outside Paris, come in steel and titanium, black PVD (physical vapor deposition), and rose gold. Though the new models incorporate automotive-themed design elements, no car ever moved so swiftly from concept to production.
