Richard Mille’s RM 012 architectural tourbillion is the world’s first wristwatch with a baseplate and bridge construction made from steel and titanium tubes. This system, in which both these structures and functions are totally integrated, is created from inox steel and titanium alloys chosen for their resistance to corrosion and fatigue. Another unusual aspect of the RM 012 tourbillion is the implementation of an aluminum alloy winding barrel, going train, and tourbillion cage made of Anticorodal 100 (AlMgSi1), which is composed of aluminum, magnesium, and silicon. Other features include a power reserve of 42 hours, blue jewels set in titanium chatons, and an overcoil balance spiral. Only 30 platinum editions will be created for worldwide distribution.
