Marking a step in the evolution of its digital-media offerings, Robb Report has just launched an iPad edition of Robb Report Watch Collector, its annual magazine devoted exclusively to watchmaking. But unlike other electronic publications, Robb Report Watch Collector’s iPad edition—a free download from the app store—delivers its content primarily through video, as well as other enhancements that take advantage of the medium.
“Watch appreciation is really a sensory experience,” says contributing editor James D. Malcolmson. “Video allows you to experience the dimensionality and movement of the watches, as well as meet the people behind them more intimately than ever before. We have been able to film things that most watch collectors ordinarily would be unable to see.”
Robb Report Watch Collector on the iPad features many of the latest watch developments from Switzerland, and also includes in-depth sections on core watch categories. The iPad edition of Robb Report Watch Collector will be updated to include new pieces as they are released. A new Watch Collector microsite on RobbReport.com will also present exclusive content that will be continuously updated.
