Two years in the making, the Astronomia Maestro ($680,000), the latest in Jacob & Co.’s prolific series of astronomical complications, incorporates the brand’s signature gravitational triple-axis tourbillon movement, a minute repeater carillon with elevated spiral gongs, and a moonphase displayed through the rotation of a 288-facet Jacob-cut diamond. But that’s all secondary to its far-out dial, around which rotates a lacquered magnesium globe, together with a floating astronaut. The 50 mm 18-karat rose-gold wristwatch is available in a limited edition of 18 individually numbered pieces.
