The latest property from Amanresorts seems intended to resemble a Buddhist temple. But while Amanoi’s austere interiors celebrate simplicity, this new retreat in Vietnam’s Nui Chua National Park is an otherwise indulgent affair.
Opened in September on a secluded promontory overlooking Vinh Hy Bay, Amanoi—Amanresorts’ first property in Vietnam—sprawls over 100 acres of forest, far removed from the tourist beaches to the north. The 31 guest pavilions and five villas present a Zen-like atmosphere, with natural color palettes, sleek furnishings, and private timber decks that offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and bay.
Guests seeking a meditative retreat can visit the resort’s 20,000-square-foot Aman Spa, where five double treatment rooms, a Pilates studio, and a yoga pavilion sit on the edge of a tranquil, lotus-filled lake. From there, manicured passageways lead to the resort’s infinity-edge Cliff Pool, wedged into a rocky outcropping above the bay, and to a restaurant serving traditional Vietnamese fare. A second pool and a café await at the Beach Club, which overlooks the majestically emerald East Sea. Amanoi, +65.6883.2555, www.amanresorts.com
