Calistoga Ranch

Auberge Resorts developed its property—zoned fortents and motor homes—as a series of freestanding bungalows (equipped with hidden wheels).  Bedrooms and living rooms connect via large wooden decks topped with outdoor fireplaces and the shade of ancient oak trees. Treatments at the Bathhouse spa—many of which incorporate the Calistoga region’s famous thermal waters—occur outdoors or in the privacy of one of 28 stand-alone spa suites. Accommodations Eight deluxe lodges with 600 square feet of indoor and outdoor space; 37 one-bedroom lodges with indoor-outdoor fireplaces and 1,200 square feet of space; and a 2,400-square-foot Estate Lodge with two bedrooms. Recreation A swimming pool with vineyard views, a spa with views of the resort’s Lake Lommel, and 140 acres of hiking terrain. Dining At the Lakehouse, try chef Eric Webster’s dry-aged rib eye paired with a powerhouse cabernet sauvignon from the nearby Rutherford or Stags Leap districts. Worthy Diversion Mineral water tapped from the resort’s geothermal spring flows into the Bathhouse spa’s 102-degree Healing Waters Soaking Pool.
