Celebrity chef–sponsored food festivals seem to be a dime a dozen these days, but Ultimo at the Venetian Las Vegas, from December 5 through 7, is no ordinary food festival. Hosting the event and preparing food throughout the weekend is not one but three brand-name chefs—Daniel Boulud, Emeril Lagasse, and Buddy Valastro—and optional accompaniments to the dining festivities are spa treatments at the Venetian’s Canyon Ranch SpaClub, exotic-car driving at the nearby Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and a shopping spree with fashion experts at the Grand Canal Shoppes of the Venetian and its adjacent partner hotel, the Palazzo.
The weekend begins with a Dom Pérignon welcome reception, followed by a banquet for as many as 182 guests prepared by Boulud and Lagasse that will conclude with a creation from Valastro, who is known the world over as the Cake Boss. Highlights throughout the weekend include Champagne brunches on Saturday and Sunday, VIP access to the Venetian’s and the Palazzo’s various dining venues, and Cognac tasting at the Richard Hennessy Lounge paired with desserts from Valastro.
Prices for the Ultimo weekend range from about $820 per night to $3,200 per night (based on double occupancy); the latter pricing is for a stay in the Venetian’s Penthouse Suite and includes limousine transportation, VIP check-in, butler service, and a bottle of Dom Pérignon. (venetian.com)
