The first stop on this ultimate tour of Northeast India is Delhi where guests will get acquainted with the city on an exciting rickshaw tour of Chandni Chowk, Old Delhi followed by a guided walking tour of the medieval settlement, Nizamuddin Basti.

From Delhi guests will travel to Guwahati where they will enjoy an orientation tour of the city before embarking on a 7-night wilderness river cruise along the Brahmaputra River. This week will be spent exploring the local towns and villages that dot the banks of the Brahmaputra through guided village tours, temple ruins visits, and rickshaw rides. On the fourth day aboard, guests will enjoy a special visit to Nameri National Park where they will float along the Jia Bhoreli River known for its excellent bird watching and chance wild elephant sightings. From there the ship will stop in Kaziranga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage site, known as the best place in the world to see rhinos. Guests will come in close contact with many native species including rhinos, tigers, sambars, swamp deer and more during exciting jeep safaris and early morning elephant rides throughout the park.


After the cruise, guests will be transported by helicopter to Kohima where they will have an exclusive chance to visit the annual Hornbill Festival held in Nagaland. During this unique festival which takes place December 1st -10th , sixteen local tribes will come together to pay homage to the rich culture and history of Nagaland through customary song and dance, food stalls, locally-made handicrafts, traditional sports, concerts, a literary fest and more. After long days filled with celebration, guests will relax at the second year Ultimate Travelling Camp, India’s first luxury mobile camp company set amongst the foothills of the Japfu Mountain.

The trip will conclude at the famous Glenburn Tea Estate, an authentic tea plantation set high in the Himalayas. Here guests will witness firsthand the tea production process from beginning to end as they explore the ground’s tea fields, tour the onsite tea factory and finish up with a final tea tasting. The day will end with a cooking class held in the estate’s open kitchen where guests can watch the staff prepare local favorites and even share some recipes of their own.
