The Historic Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc Celebrates Its Centennial

The French Riviera icon will host several events this summer.

In 1914, the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc along the waterfront in Cap d’Antibes, France, created its now famous Eden-Roc Pavilion seawater swimming pool. The historic hotel—which inspired F. Scott Fitzgerald’s Tender Is the Night and was a hangout for Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, and many other artists—is now celebrating the Pavilion’s 100th anniversary with a lineup of festivities from May through September. On May 9, a gala banquet will kick off the four-month bash with a feast to include signature dishes by chefs Arnaud Poëtte and Olivier Gaiatto. The dinner ($968 per person) will spotlight French cuisine and include wine pairings. As the summer advances, the outdoor pavilion will host evening viewings of silent films, including the Charlie Chaplin collection, on giant screens in the gardens behind the swimming pool. The season comes to a close with another gourmet wine-and-dining experience on September 5, hosted by three legendary sommeliers: Serge Dubs, Markus Del Monego, and Andreas Larsson.
