Rocco Forte’s Hotel Astoria Unveils New Czar’s Suite

Rocco Forte’s Hotel Astoria, in St. Petersburg, Russia, has unveiled its elegant new Czar’s Suite in celebration of the hotel’s 100th anniversary this year.  Designed by Olga Polizzi, the brand’s Director of Design, the 3,500 square foot space offers unparalleled views over St. Isaac’s Square and its glorious cathedral, and is mere steps from The Hermitage and other key sights in the heart of the city. The completion of the Czar’s Suite marks the culmination of the Hotel Astoria’s multi-million dollar refurbishment, including the addition of 50 junior suites. Located on the sixth floor, the Czar Suite features:

  • Lounge overlooking St. Isaac’s Square
  • Library stocked with over 300 Russian classics
  • Fully equipped kitchen and bar area and a dining room seating up to 16 guests that can also be converted into a board room
  • Gym with dedicated treatment area
  • Bedroom with dedicated dressing area and double walk-in wardrobe
  • Marble bathroom with double shower and flat screen TV
  • Interconnecting sliding doors

Standout design elements include antique pieces, dating back to 1912, that were returned to the hotel from President Putin’s Konstantinovsky Palace; including gold lamps, candelabras, small decorative accessories, and red and gold striped arm chairs and sofas. The dining room features a free flowing light hanging over the table and striking grey and white wallpaper by Min Hogg.  Dramatic black and white Mariinsky (Kirov) Ballet and opera prints are displayed throughout, alongside antique statues and colorful Russian plates.
