Named for the giant rocks strewn along Sabi Sand Game Reserve’s Sand River, Singita Boulders Lodge (singita.com) debuted in 1996 as the safari brand Singita’s flagship lodge. This June, the South African camp reopened with a stylish new look that draws from the bold geometry of its natural surroundings. The longtime Singita collaborator Cécile and Boyd’s—the South African firm that designed the original lodge—incorporated details such as fossilized tree stumps, beaten copper, and charcoal-toned elements into the camp’s 12 glass-walled suites. Equally dramatic is the lodge’s new location closer to the Sand River’s boulder-lined banks, ensuring that wildlife sightings from the library and elevated dining pavilion rival those from the twice-daily game drives.
