The rocky bluff that dominates portions of this island’s west coast is a commanding presence at Villa Amanzi, to serenely pleasing effect. The six-bedroom, 8,000-square-foot design by the Asian firm Original Vision serves as an extension of the Kamala Headland, and the home’s three levels intersect and seem to float over the Andaman Sea, a view perhaps best enjoyed from the infinity pool that juts out over the precipice. Steps lead through a tropical garden to the villa’s entrance, and an elevated timber stairway leads from the home through the forest canopy to the secluded coastline. The villa is replete with conveniences and amenities, including touchscreen controls and audio (even underwater in the pool), a live-in chef, and full access to the facilities and services of the Paresa resort, a two-minute drive away.
