Design buffs, take note: Now’s the time to visit Chicago. With the opening of the new Chicago Architecture Center this month, the Windy City is gearing up for the en-masse arrival of culture vultures from around the world. The institution’s long-awaited new location will showcase a skyscraper exhibit and a model of the city composed of 400 blocks and 1,000 buildings, as well as vast gallery spaces for visiting exhibitions. While you’re in town, check into the über-stylish St. Jane, which opens on July 1 on Michigan Avenue inside the historic Carbide and Carbon building. The Art Deco property features 365 rooms with lofted ceilings, large-scale paintings, and blush-colored touches. Book one of the Tower Suites, on floors 24 to 36, for VIP amenities including access to a private rooftop lounge. And for more fabulous eye candy, hop aboard the new Odyssey Chicago River Experience, a glass-enclosed boat that will take to the Chicago River, offering 360-degree views of one of America’s most famously architectural skylines.
