Sneak Peek: Orion II Cruise Ship

Australia-based Orion Expedition Cruises has just released its fully refurbished Clelia II under a new name, Orion II, which will make its inaugural voyage from June 10 to July 4. The 24-night trip (from approximately $17,000 for a standard suite to $33,500 for a penthouse suite) departs from Vancouver, British Columbia, and visits Alaska, the Russian Kuril Islands, and Japan.

The 289-foot vessel, which cruises at 15.5 mph, was built by Italy’s Cantieri Navale Ferrari to resemble a megayacht; it accommodates 100 guests in 50 ocean-view suites, and 70 officers and crew members. After its initial journey, the Orion II will be based in Southeast Asia, from where it will depart on trips to Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, the Indonesian archipelago, Japan, and Borneo (from about $5,000 to $20,000). Exclusive expeditions also will be available to Antarctica, Asia, Australia’s Kimberley region, the Melanesia islands, and New Zealand. (877.674.6687,
