St. Regis Florence

Situated in the heart of the city, the newly unveiled St. Regis Florence seamlessly blends the city’s artistic heritage with contemporary design, and modern amenities. After a $100 million renovation and restoration, the former Grand Hotel reopened this fall with 81 spacious rooms and 19 suites, including a Presidential Suite with an expansive terrace offering sweeping views of the Arno River on one side, and a glimpse of the Duomo on the other.

The building, originally designed in 1432 by Filippo Brunelleschi, the architect of the Duomo Santa Maria del Fiore, was restored to its original grandeur using local artisans and materials. Among the notable features are restored 16th-century frescoes, hand-painted ceilings, Murano glass chandeliers, and Florentine and Tuscan paintings in every room, along with antiques and decorative objects—all in the spirit of the city. The main floor is designed with several public spaces including an expansive sitting area stocked with Assouline tabletop books, a cozy library, and an outdoor terrace.

In October, the St. Regis Florence opened three Iridium suites for European spa treatments, each appointed with Florentine marble and views of the Arno River. Two of the spa suites are designed for couples and have circular chromotherapy Jacuzzi tubs. Other amenities include St. Regis Butler Service, which provides individualized services around the clock, from unpacking and pressing clothes to tea service and car arrangements. The hotel also provides unique experiences designed to take advantage of its Florentine heritage and the nearby wine country, such as personalized tours of private art collections, or a Bentley for the day to visit the Tuscany region.

Another attraction for both visitors and locals is the Etichetta Pinchiorri restaurant, a collaboration with the city’s only three-star Michelin restaurant, Enoteca Pinchiorri. Known among Florentines for its innovative cooking and exceptional wine list, the restaurant owners, Giorgio Pinchiorri and wife Annie Féolde will be designing seasonal menus. Plus, tucked away on a lower level is small, cozy wine cellar that can host two to 12 guests for private wine tastings or dinners, and the wine list exceed 800 labels.
