The Top 100 Hotels 2015: Rosewood San Miguel de Allende

FREE PREVIEW: The Rosewood San Miguel de Allende is among the Top 100 Hotels featured in the May issue of Robb Report...

San Miguel de Allende, Mexico

Though newly constructed in 2011, the Rosewood San Miguel de Allende blends right in with the historic Spanish structures of Mexico’s most iconic colonial town. The rose-hued limestone property, which is set on a picturesque hill above cobblestone streets and pastel-colored villas, is an authentic interpretation of the city’s handcrafted haciendas, with its cantera-stone colonnades, arched porticos, and courtyards crowned with bubbling fountains. Inside, wrought iron, tooled leather, and dark wood adorn the 67 guest rooms and suites, each of which features a balcony or patio with views of the bright-pink spires of the town church or the distant foothills of the Sierra Madre Mountains. On cool evenings, guests wrapped in pashminas sip blue-agave tequila at the Luna rooftop bar; during the summer, fruit-infused margaritas are served in custom-blown glasses. More local indulgences can be found at the spa, where therapies include a mole-spice-and-cocoa scrub, and at the 1826 restaurant, which helped launch San Miguel’s newfound farm-to-table movement.
