Paris architects Henri Tauzin and Louis-Hippolyte Boileau designed the original and now-iconic building next door to Le Bon Marché. The pair adorned the art-nouveau-style, curved, cream-colored facade with stone balconies complete with trellises and luscious sculpted grape clusters. In 2014, the Set brought on Jean-Michel Wilmotte to restore the building’s facade (as well as refurbish and refresh the interiors, but more on that later), and the renowned architect has done just that, breathing life back into its intricate, undulating details and ornate carvings—cherub centerpieces included.
