As it is located just across the street from the Dolby Theater, the Hollywood Roosevelt hotel is one of the best places to spot celebrities prepping for the Oscars red carpet. The hotel is also one of Los Angeles’s grand dames, and Hollywood heavyweights Clark Gable and Carol Lombard stayed in the property’s 3,200-square-foot, three-floor penthouse (which is now named after them) the night before the very first Academy Awards ceremony in 1929.
